My job...

the boys were playing with their cars and were pretending they were people...Steve, myself and them.  They were making the cars go to work on their tracks.  So, I asked them what Mommy's job is.  So, Nicolas answered me...

Nicolas: "Mommy, your job is to clean up." 
Me: "Clean up what?"
Nicolas: "The things on the floor."
Me: "What things on the floor?"
Nicolas:  "All of Charlie`s stuff."


The answer to the questions were hilarious.  I just love how honest they are and just how they see the world.  I think it`s funny that they don;t realize that I also clean up after them!

Fun in the sun...

We had lovely, sunny and hot weekend.  We enjoyed every second of it by being outside as often as possible.  the boys were so happy to be able to eat dinner out on our deck.  I got a lot of gardening done and Steve got a lot of random outside work done.  We had the sprinkler out for the lawn but the boys ended up spending so much time running through it.

I had a great mother's day spending it with my family.  We had a great BBQ dinner followed by some amazing ice cream!  My neighbor down the street has been making her own ice cream for years (while at home raising her 7 kids) and now she is selling it at some of the grocery stores in Montreal.  She was kind enough to give us 2 different flavors to try on Saturday (Lemon Basil and Raspberry Truffle) and we ended up at the grocery store on Sunday to buy more.  On Sunday we tried the Gingerbread Crunch and the Apple Pie flavors.  They were all amazing... my favorite has to be the Raspberry Truffle.

Charlie's first steps

Charlie took his first steps alone tonight.  Steve was helping him practice by standing him up and helping him gain his balance.  I stood in front of him and extended my arms.  Most of the time he simply lunged forward without moving his feet.  But a few times he actually kept his balance and took the necessary steps to come to me.  It was so cute to see the look on his face when we congratulated him!  I am hoping he will take a few more in the next few days and I can actually get it on video.  My littlest man sure is growing up fast!

Our first accident

Nicolas had his first accident since we got rid of the Pull-ups.  He woke me at about 3:00 to let me know that his bed was wet.  I changed his sheets and his jammies and he went right back to sleep.  Hopefully it will be a long time before this happens again...

He's done so well and I'm sure this is not a set-back...just a minor accident.  I guess only time will tell...

4th birthday party for Zachary and Nicolas

We threw a 4th birthday party for Zachary and Nicolas today.  It was mainly a family party with a few friends.  Thankfully it was a beautiful day outside and the kids played out all day.  We had a BBQ, some cupcakes with ice cream and some gifts.  The boys were all wiped by the end of the day.  But, they went to bed very happy.

All of the boys' cousins were here today and we were able to get a good picture of all of them.

Adventures in Painting

The boys got some paint from Nana and Papa for their birthday and we decided to try them out this afternoon...

Happy 4th Birthday Zachary and Nicolas

Zachary and Nicolas turned 4 years old today!  I cannot believe how quickly the time has flown by.  It feels like yesterday that we welcomed them into our lives.  It also feels like they've always been a part of our lives.

They had a great day.  They were surprised this morning by a visit from Nana and Papa.  They got to spend the morning playing with them and got Topper Deckington III (the British double decker bus from Cars 2).  They have been wanting it for a while and were so excited.

After quiet time and Charlie's nap, we headed over to Mom-I and Pop-I's.  We ordered in some food and had cupcakes and some more gifts for the boys.  They got some awesome wall mounted matchbox car tracks from Mom-I and Pop-I.  Thankfully they were easy to put up and Daddy got it mostly put up before they went to bed.  So, they got to try it out.  I didn't manage to take pictures but plan to tomorrow.

Charlie got his first taste of icing and cupcakes.  He enjoyed it quite a bit but managed to get more of it on him than he ate.

It was a great day!  I am one lucky Mom to have such wonderful little men in my life.  I am looking forward to so many more birthdays and celebrations in the future...
