New Bikes...

Zachary and Nicolas got some new bikes as an early birthday present from Mom-I and Pop-I.  They love them!!  They are really quite useful since they have a handle to help us push them but it comes out when they learn to ride on their own.  It is a two wheeler with training wheels attached so they should be good for a few years.  Here are some pictures of them "riding" their new bikes.  I plan to get some helmets for them in the next few days...

Busy Day

I had an appointment at the dentist this morning.  They recommended that since the boys were almost 3, it would be a good idea to bring them along to see what happens.  Mom-I came with us to keep the boys busy while I had my cleaning done.  The boys came and checked it all out, but refused to get anywhere near the dentist.  But, it's a start.  They were given new Cars toothbrushes that have been a HUGE hit!  They have been showing them off to everyone.

Next I headed to blueberry's checkup.   All went well.  The results from my last blood test showed a lower glucose level so the change in diet helped.  I also lost 3 pounds (probably due to eating less junk!) but my OB was not at all concerned.  Blueberry's heartbeat was very strong and we will get to see him again in a little less than 3 weeks.  That's when they start checking his position since I will be 36 weeks by then.

Other than that, not much else is new here.  Nicolas has a little cold and Zachary seems to be starting up as well.  I am also starting to feel like I am not far behind.  The weather over the next few days is calling for rain so I guess it's not a bad time to be a little sick and take advantage of cuddles, books and tv!

Easter weekend...

We took the boys out of town to be with Steve's family for the weekend.  We stayed at a hotel in Ottawa that has an indoor water park and had a blast.  We were 3 families as well as Mom-I and Pop-I staying at the hotel on Saturday night.  We managed to get the entire family together on Easter Sunday... 23 3/4 people!

Easter egg hunt...

It was a great weekend!  Considering there was generally 11 kids under the age of 10, it went off without a hitch!  By next Easter we will be a total of 24.... 12 adults and 12 kids!!

New haircuts

 I just love it when the boys get their hair cut.  They just look so cute afterwards.  This hair cut is in preparation for our photo shoot in 2 weeks.  Thank you Mom-I for doing such a great job!

Happy to be outside!

The boys love to play outside.  They can spend hours out there playing with their trucks, sports equipment, cars, or just plain running around.  On a good and warm day we end up spending lots of time outside.  It makes me quite happy since I also love being outside.  It's also a great way to tire them out!

Sugar Shack

Steve and I met my family at the sugar shack on Saturday.  The place was huge and it had approximately 500 people for lunch.  The food was served about an hour late and it was unbelievably noisy.  Despite all that, the boys had a great time.  They had a small farm and lots of land where the boys could roam and play.  It was a beautiful day and it was great to spend so much time outside.  We got to go on a horse ride and Nicolas was so excited!  He loved every second of it.  He rode closest to the from and watched the horses go the entire time.

Blueberry's 30 week check-up...

I went in this morning for blueberry's 30 week check-up.  Everything is great.  My blood pressure, weight gain and his heartbeat are all within the expected range.  He was moving around so much that Dr. Vasilie had a hard time picking up his heartbeat.  She said she was pleased with everything she saw and figured that I was probably feeling lighter in this pregnancy than I did with the twin pregnancy.  I explained that since I have two 30 pound bodies on me a lot, I feel much heavier!

My gestational diabetes test came back almost completely normal.  She said that my fasting blood sugar was a little higher than she would like.  The other two numbers were great.  So, she is considering me to be slightly glucose intolerant.  She wants me to modify my diet to reduce the amount of carbs and increase my protein intake.  In two weeks I have to go back for another blood test to see if that helps.  I don't really think this is a bad thing since I am a carb addict and should probably reduce my carb intake for my overall health.  It should help me get most of my bad habits (i.e my chip eating!) out of my system before blueberry is born.  That way, it will hopefully help me lose the baby weight as well as the other extra weight I have hanging around...

I cannot believe that I am now at the point in my pregnancy when I am going for visits every two weeks!  The end is coming very quickly and honestly I am starting to get excited!  I can't wait to meet this little man and introduce him to the world!

Feeling "blueberry" kick...

The boys felt blueberry kick for the first time today.  Zachary had his hand on my stomach.  When he felt the kick he looked at me with a little shock.  I told him that blueberry was trying to say his.  So, he stuck his head on my tummy and said "Hi Blueberry!  It's Acky!"

Nicolas came over to have his turn.  Blueberry kicked him and he looked and my belly and said, "Blueberry, that's not nice!"  I had to explain to him that blueberry was not trying to be mean but was simply moving around.  He didn't seem convinced...
