School project - Totems

The boys had a school project that had them painting animals for Totem poles that were going to be displayed at the city's cultural center.  They were displayed over the weekend and we went to see them.  Here are their masterpieces.  It was a fun time especially since we saw many of their school friends as well as both of their teachers.

Lego Star Wars

The three boys are such Lego Maniacs these days and they are starting to get into Star Wars as well.  It makes me laugh since they have yet to see any of the Star Wars movies!  But, they are fascinated nonetheless.

The Lego store at our mall had the official grand opening of their store on the weekend.  During this opening, they had kids come and participate in the building of a 12 foot tall Darth Vader.  After the kids build their part of the gigantic build, they received a certificate.  All three boys helped and walked away feel so accomplished.

We returned to the mall at the end of the day to see the completed build before they had to take it down.  We got to take pictures and the boys were so excited!

Let the soccer season begin!

Zachary and Nicolas started soccer this week.  Sadly, their practice on Thursday night was cancelled since it was raining.  We did go over to the field to get their new uniforms and see most of the parents.  We are really happy to see that most of the kids from last year are back again this year.

We had our first game this afternoon.  What a difference a year makes!  The kids are so much bigger and many of them are much better, including our boys.  They had a blast!  They actually talked with the other boys and played so well.  They went after the ball and Zachary managed to score 2 goals!  He was so excited!  Nicolas is our defensive player and will more than likely become a goalie in the future.  He made two incredible stops and almost scored a goal!

Happy Mother's Day!

I just wanted to wish all the Mothers out there a very happy Mother's Day!  I got to spend the day with my three boys and loved every second of it.  The weather was beautiful and we got to spend almost the entire day outside.  Who could ask for better.

To my Mom and my Mother-in-Law, have a wonderful Mother's Day.  I am very fortunate to have both of you in my life!

First Birthday Party with school friends

Zachary and Nicolas had their very first birthday party with their school friends today.  We had 8 boys come over to celebrate with us.  Zachary had Thomas, Miles, Casimir and Sebastien.  Nicolas had invited Coby, Louis, Luc and Kian.  Most of the boys are friends with both and it made for a very fun afternoon.

The weather cooperated and didn't start to really rain until after everyone left.  They were spoiled rotten by their buddies and received lots of great gifts.  Surprisingly, they did not get anything that they had already.  We got to play outside, they all played with the Lego store we have in our basement, designed and colored Lego men, and played pin the head on the Lego man.

All of the boys seemed to have a great time.  My boys went to be exhausted and happy.  Steve and I are thrilled because they have a great group of friends.  All of the boys are very polite and well behaved.  They seemed to have surrounded themselves with a good group.

First ride with new bikes to Mom-I and Pop-I's...

Zachary and Nicolas hopped on their new bikes this afternoon and make the 1.7 km trip to Mom-I and Pop-I's.  I followed along on my bike with Charlie behind me.  They made it there no problem!  They were champs and even made the trip back home.  This will be amazing for the summer.  It means we will be doing lots of biking which will help me stay in shape too!

Birthday Bikes!

Zachary and Nicolas turn 6 on Friday.  I still cannot believe that they are 6 years old already.  Their first year of school is almost over and they have accomplished so much!  They are perfectly bilingual and their French is improving daily.  They have made lots of new friends and will be starting a new soccer season soon.

The boys needed new bikes since they have outgrown their old ones.  So, their birthday gift from us this year is new "big boy" bikes.  We bought them yesterday but the weather was not cooperative since it rained all day.  The weather today is gloomy and quite cold but there was no way we could not let them test out their new bikes.  So, we got all dressed up and headed outside...
