Fun in the sun...

We went to my sister-in-law's house yesterday for Sabrina's birthday party.  She has a nice in-ground pool and I was hoping the boys would get to play around in the water.  Sadly, the water was way too cold.  Nicolas decided he wanted in until he felt how cold the water was.  He got in up to his waist and decided that was enough. 

The boys however, got the chance to spend some time with most of their cousins.  The older girls (all but one of the cousins there were older than them) were so good at playing with them and keeping an eye out for them.  It is so cute to see them all chasing after the boys.  And the boys loved every second of it.  At one point they had all 5 girls waiting on them hand and foot and they were in heaven.

We will be doing it all over again in another month except this time all of the cousins will be there for Grandpa's birthday.  It will be great to see them all together.  Hopefully the weather will be just as warm but that the pool will be a little warmer so that my boys will want to go in. I was lucky enough to have Carolyn look after the boys for a while so that I could go in the pool with the older kids and play.  What a great day!

The boys did not nap at Carolyn's (or if they did it was not longer than 30 minutes) but made it until bed time.  It was only when we were in the bath that they were becoming a little unbearable.  They went to sleep with minimal fussing.  Nicolas complained a little because he had thrown all of this stuffed animals and blankets in Zachary's crib in an attempt to wake him up.  That did not work at all.  I went in thinking they were both still awake and turned on the light to find Nicolas' stuffed animals.  Only to find Zachary sound asleep and not even flinching when I turned on the light and moved him to get Nicolas' bear.  They both slept in until 9:15 this morning when I finally went in and helped them wake up.

In honor of Uncle Chavly

The boys had a chance to visit with their Aunt Kiki and their Uncle Chavly today.  We took Uncle Chavly to a soccer store today so that he could pick up some African flags to put on his car in honor of the World Cup.  He boys had a blast playing with them so he went out and bought them some of the own.  So, the boys now own a flag for Cameroon and Ghana.  Here are some pictures of them with their new flags...

Elmo's name

Steve and I were asking Nicolas what he named all of his stuffed animals.  First, his dog's name is Buster (just like in My Friends Tigger and Pooh).  Then his meow's name is Cat.  Very funny... I know.  When asked what he named Elmo, he answered Steve!

I guess this falls into the category of the crazy things kids say...

Happy Father's Day!

We had a great day as a family and even enjoyed some time with good friends in the evening.  All in all the day was a huge success.  I tried to let Steve sleep in but the boys were so happy he was home that I couldn't keep them from waking him up.

It was so hot and humid that we enjoyed some time running through the sprinklers.  Nicolas was not so crazy about the idea, but Zachary loved it.  He was completely soaked by the time I turned the water off.  Here are a few pictures from our day...

Fun on a really big slide!

While we were visiting Grandma (Mom-I) and Grandpa (Pop-I), we had some fun at a few parks.  One in particular had a really big slide that went down a hill.  It is perfect because the kids get going just fast enough but don't go flying off the end.  Here is a video of the boys having a great time!

The best thing about it was that they kept wanting to go down the slide.  The hill was quite steep to climb and took a lot out of them.  They were very tired by the time we got home and they were asleep within seconds....

Fun in the sprinklers...

The boys had a blast a few evenings ago in the sprinklers.  Actually, it was the soaker hose that Steve was using to water the bushes with... it was perfect because it gave off a relatively fine mist.  It was perfect for the boys.  Here are a few pictures of them soaking wet and after I styled their hair!

Clock...

Zachary pointed to a clock we have mounted on the wall tonight and for the first time said "clock".  The only problem is that he forgot the "L".  Nicolas immediately learned the word as well.  I guess this is one of those times when mispronounced words are hilarious at home but won't be quite so funny in public.
