Potty training...

We have started the potty training conversation with the boys.  They have a potty seat for the toilet and we bought them some books for them to read while sitting on the potty.  Yes, I am completely aware that I am training the type of men that need something to read while in the bathroom.  But for right now it's getting them to sit so I'm ok with it.  Since they are so obsessed with the Cars movie, I bought them each a Cars book to serve this purpose.  They are only allowed to read it on the potty.  So, far it's worked.

We have started by sitting them on right before their bath.  Neither has peed in the potty yet, but I am hoping that's going to come soon.

Saturday

Aunt Kiki and Uncle Chavly came over on Saturday to spend the morning with the boys.  What a great time they had!  Not at all surprising but it's still fun to see.  Aunt Kiki cut their hair because they were both in desperate need of a hair cut.  So, here are a few pictures of the boys with their new look:

After their nap we headed over to Mom-I and Pop-I's to see all of their cousins.  It is Fiona's birthday in a few days so Auntie Carolyn made some cupcakes.  It is so cute to see all of the kids together.  I must say that the oldest girls are growing up so fast.  I remember when they were all born and it just seems like yesterday...

My Nanny made me a quilt when I was just a little baby.  Obviously it is something I held on to and cherished but have not had much use for it since then.  She also had the foresight prior to her death to make one for all of her grandchildren's first child.  I have been holding on to that quilt since it was given to me and have waited for the day to be able to pass it on to my first born.  I never expected that she would also give me the gift of twins, and since she did give me that wonderful gift, I will be passing along my quilt at the same time as the other one.

Zachary being my first born, gets the quilt that my grandmother intended for that child.  It is blue which is one of his favorite colors.  Nicolas gets to inherit my quilt which is green... a color that he is drawn to and loves.  It could not have worked better if we had a crystal ball all those years ago and could look into the future.  I have taken a few pictures of the boys' beds with the new quilts.  Hopefully when they sleep they will have beautiful and peaceful dreams while being kept warm with these quilts.  They were made from very loving hands by someone who loved them long before they were born.  My Nanny would have been so proud and happy with her great grandsons.  I wish she were here to see their excitement when I have them their new "blankies"...

Knitted Sweaters...

I was given two gorgeous knitted sweaters from Brenda at my baby shower.  The boys finally fit into them and since the weather has turned cooler, they have been able to wear them.  Here are the boys playing outside in them this morning...

Pacifiers...

Anyone out there have an good and useful advice on how to get rid of the boys' pacifiers?  The only use them when they sleep.  It is my next project with the boys and I am just wondering if anything other than cold turkey works well...

Conversation at Dinner

We were all sitting around having dessert after dinner.  Steve starts to cough and Nicolas turns to him and says, "Daddy have some my chocolate milk to feel better."  He slides over his cup of chocolate milk to his Daddy.  After having a few sips, Daddy says, "Thank you Nico".  To which Nicolas replied, "No problem, Daddy!".

I love having conversations with two year-olds.  You never know what they are going to say!

Playing in the rain

It was a gorgeous rainy day.  The rain was coming down very gently and it was reasonably warm.  The boys wanted to play outside with their big cars and I could see no reason why not.  So, we got all dressed up and headed outside...
