A Great Escape to The Great Escape!

We just got back from a really fun trip to Lake George, NY.  We have been to the Great Escape Lodge a few times before but never in the summer.  So, we decided to give it a try.  And I am ever glad we did.  It was so much fun for everyone.  The boys enjoyed the Six Flags amusement park that was located just across the street from the hotel.  They tried all kinds of rides and had a blast!

It was great to be able to come back to the hotel, get out of the sun (or rain) and enjoy the indoor water park.  It was a great way to end most of our days.  We actually never made it into Lake George to check out the lake or the beach.  We were having way too much fun at the amusement park and the water park.

All in all it was a highly successful trip that will more than likely be repeated.  It also gives me hope that my boys will not have the same motion sickness issues Steve has.  Which means a trip to Disney and Legoland will not be wasted in the future!

Swimming Lessons

Zachary and Nicolas have started their swimming lessons at the pool for the summer.  Zachary has made so much progress.  He is in green and is the only one at that level at our pool, so they have him with someone from the next level (red).  He is learning how to swim on his back and in just two lessons is doing very well.  He has Ryan as an instructor and he loves him.  He is the perfect teacher for Zachary.

Nicolas is making some big steps as well.  He is now jumping in from the side and the diving board without fear of going under.  We have been throwing him in to try and help him get used to having his head under water.  This is not nearly as bad as it seems.  He is aware we are going to throw in him and it's all part of a game.  He really wants the help in getting over this obstacle and he's starting to show signs that he will very soon.  He's even starting to put his head under while swimming.  If he keeps progressing he might join Zachary in green before the end of the summer.  That is if Zachary doesn't move up to red before then....

Charlie is loving the pool as well.  He does not seem interested in swimming lessons but can manage to swim with his bubble on without us holding him.  He is so strong and as soon as he starts lessons, he will be swimming on his own in no time.  But, I'm in no hurry.  He'll do it when he's ready.  As long as he's willing to come in the pool and play around with us, I'm happy...

A concert and a snack...

Here we are with only 2 days left to Zachary and Nicolas' first year at school.  What a whirlwind of a year!  I cannot have asked for it to go any better than it did.  We were expecting the worse in thinking that we would have boys that cried every morning for the first month of school.  The only tears that have been shed are happening now because they are sad to see the year come to an end.  They have loved their classes and their teachers.

School has done such wonderful things for my shy boys.  Nicolas has gained a self confidence that has made him shine even more than he already did.  Zachary has also come out of his shell and has proven to himself that he can do so many things so very well.  They have made lots of friends and have had lots of birthday parties to attend!  I am so happy for them and proud of the friends they have made.  All of them are wonderful boys and will hopefully stay that way as they get older.  I cannot wait to see what grade one brings.  There will be some changes (the classes will be reorganized) and surely some more growth and accomplishments.

I am a very proud and happy Mommy today.  The teachers have said such wonderful things about our boys and it is wonderful to hear it from unbiased sources.  The parents were treated to a little concert and some snacks in the schoolyard this morning.  It was adorable and fun to see the kids in action...

Charlie is 3!

Wow!  I cannot believe that my littlest man turned 3 today.  It feels like he just came into our family yesterday but at the same time, it is hard to remember our family without him!

He is such a sweet and amazing boy.  He definitely has a mind of his own and will not be pushed around by anyone!  But, he loves his brothers dearly and still talks about how much he misses them when they're at school.  He is so grown up and sometimes we forget that he is only 3.  He is officially potty trained (day and night) and he's quite proud of it.

He loves Lego and Star Wars, just like his bog brothers.  He is very creative and great at building all kinds of cool things with his Lego!  He is also looking forward to starting school.  He loves getting to spend time there doing activities with his older brothers.

The day flew by and we were so busy I didn't get a chance to take many pictures.  But here are a few from our little celebration...

Golfing fun for Father's Day...

Father's Day was quite a busy day here.  Steve managed to squeeze in 9 holes of golf with his Dad.  We had a late afternoon soccer game with the boys.  They are playing so well and are improving every time they play!  It is so much fun to watch them enjoying themselves!

After we ate, we took the 3 boys and Pop-I out to the golf course to play a few holes.  It was so much fun.  Watching Zachary and Nicolas showing Charlie the course and teaching him the rules was adorable!  Here are a few pictures of our time at the real golf course!

Potty training success

We started potty training Charlie on Sunday and today was his first day of no accidents!  The training has gone so well and it even looks like he is going to not only be dry during the day but also at night.  He was very reluctant and opposed to the idea at first but now loves it.  I am still putting a diaper on him at night just in case and he told me that he didn't want to be in diapers anymore.  I don't think it will be long before we are done with those as well since he has been waking up in the morning dry since we started.

I cannot believe that there is no longer any sign of babies in my house anymore!  I loved every stage of the baby phase but am thrilled with the big boys I have now...  Where did the time go?
