Socks!

The boys do not remember last winter so the thought of having to wear socks is a foreign concept to them.  Since the weather is getting colder, the need to dress more warmly has come.  The only thing is that the boys hate having socks on unless they are wearing their shoes.  So, the minute the shoes come off.... so do the socks.  It's quite funny to see since they have a hard time taking off the socks without help...

An evening at the park

We had a great family evening at the park last night.  The boys were in a wonderful mood and for the first time could wander around the park without any help.  Steve and I realized that just a few short months ago (at the beginning of the summer) we were having to carry them everywhere because they weren't walking yet!  What a difference a summer could make!

Kreativ Award and 7 Things about myself...

Here are my 7 things:

1. I hate soggy bread and will not eat anything if the bread is soggy... so, yes, that means that hot chicken sandwiches are out!

2. I am a lyric freak and know just about every lyric to every song (not really- just the more mainstream stuff) and it irritates me when people don't know the words... so Steve drives me crazy since he does not know the words to a single song!

3. The only bone I ever broke was my nose when I was 6 years old... a freak slip-n-slide accident!

4. Half way through my university career I wanted to switch majors from Chemistry to Education but didn't want to start over.  So, I stuck with Chemistry and if I could do it over again, I would have become a teacher instead!

5. I used to have terrible road rage when I was driving a lot.  but since I drive less and I'm usually with the boys, I am more careful and get less irritated  by bad drivers.

6. Steve and I managed to survive two long distance relationships very early on in our relationship.  The first being within 6 months of us starting to date when he moved to Chicago.  I guess we were just meant to be together!

7. On a similar note, when Steve and I met, we were both interested in each other's friends... look at us now!

Little Red Sox Fans

My Dad (well, my whole family actually) is a huge Boston Red Sox fan. He has been for years and used to take us to Boston on vacation and one time we got into the empty stadium to have a look around. It was awesome! Anyhow, while my parents were on vacation my Dad found some cute Boston Red Sox t-shirts for the boys. They are adorable and the boys look so cute in them.

On a separate note. We were extremely lucky to get a surprise visit from one of my best friends yesterday. Randi went back to school last year and was also working so we haven't seen each other in a year or so. Way too long! I realized yesterday just how much I miss her! She is such a wonderful and fun person to be around. The boys had a great time with her and I can only hope that they get to know their Aunt Randi as they grow up. Here are pictures of her with the boys. Sadly, Nicolas wouldn't sit still long enough for me to snap a picture so the one with his eyes closed will have to do...

Nicolas is my builder. He is constantly taking things and trying to stack them up. Zachary, on the other hand is my destroyer. He loves to knock over anything that is stacked. The two of them together make the perfect pair.

I took a video of Nicolas with his cups because I find it fascinating to watch him. He knows exactly which cups fit into the other properly and he also knows which one goes on top of the other. If you watch closely to the video, you can see how deliberate he is in picking the correct cups to use next. He is so smart!

Family get together

My Mom's side of the family had a get together yesterday since my Uncle Ralph and Aunt Lois are in town from BC. The boys had a great time since there were a lot of other kids to play with. They were very good and exhausted when they got home. They went to bed a little earlier than usual but slept great!

It was wonderful to get to see everyone again but sadly, I waited too long to get out my camera and some family members had already left. So I only got a few pictures of the boys with their great Uncle Ralph (he is one of the boys from my Nanny's first set of twins). We went back for another visit this morning since Uncle Ralph and Aunt Lois won't be back until 2011.
